Prostitution Crackdown: NYPD Shuts Down Spa/Brothel on UWS
It’s at least the third shut down in Manhattan in recent months of a spa that police claim was masquerading as a spa. Two other shut downs came to establishments on the Upper East Side
Another “spa” has been shut down by the NYPD for allegedly running a prostitution business out of its establishment, this time on the Upper West Side.
It’s see you in court for the “MT See You Tomorrow” spa at 200 W. 106th St.
It’s the third spa business to be forced to close in Manhattan in recent weeks. Police in May closed Zen Body Works on East 73rd Street between First and Second Avenues to close for allegedly engaging in prostitution. In April, police had close the No. 8 Spa on East 86th Street between First and York Avenues for the same reason.
The MT See You Tomorrow, which had posted store hours from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. was closed by court order following a nuisance-abatement case brought by the City of New York, according to court records and notices posted on the premises.
Brightly colored notices issued by the NYPD and posted outside MT See You Tomorrow Spa state the business was “closed by court order.” A restraining order notice posted on the storefront lists prostitution as a prohibited activity at the location.
Court records show the City of New York filed a nuisance-abatement action in New York County Supreme Court on Feb. 18, 2025. The case remains active and is assigned to Justice James E. d’Auguste.
The closure has drawn attention from residents and nearby businesses, many of whom said they were unaware that a brothel was operating in their midst until the notices appeared on the storefront.
“This is their second time getting shut down. The first time was in February. It was surprising when it first happened,” said an employee at Poke Doke, a restaurant located above the spa. It is believed to have been closed for a second time in April.
Since the closure, the employee said, curious pedestrians have regularly stopped outside the building.
“People keep passing by and staring at the window. We just can’t tell if they’re reading the sign downstairs or us,” he said.
A resident who lives in the neighboring building said he never witnessed any illegal activity firsthand but noticed the business appeared to attract a steady stream of customers.
“I was usually too busy working to notice anything unusual, but when I would come home I could tell they were getting business. But who knows,” he said.
Not everyone in the neighborhood had heard about the closure. At a nearby nail salon, one longtime resident reacted with surprise after learning of the allegations.
“This is news to me, and I’ve lived here my whole life,” she said.
The case is one of several nuisance-abatement actions brought by the city against businesses alleged to have engaged in prostitution.. Such actions allow the city to seek court orders restricting or closing properties that officials contend constitute a public nuisance.
As of publication, representatives of MT See You Tomorrow Spa had not responded to requests for comment. It was not immediately clear whether an attorney had appeared on behalf of the business in the ongoing court proceedings.
The storefront remained closed during a recent visit by Straus Media with court notices still posted at the entrance.
An attorney for MT See You Tomorrow could not be reached by press time.
