Re “ A Jury of My Distracted Peers,” June 18:

I, too, mourn the loss of social connection now that people, apparently, prefer to interact with their electronic devices rather than interact with other people. Not only have we lost the art of making conversation, we also seem to have lost any desire to make friends out of strangers. All the while we crave companionship.
