On Friday, June 27, W83 Ministry Center will host the grand opening of Broken Hearts | Broken Souls, a striking new photography exhibit by Maria Camila Morales that explores the emotional bond between dogs and the people who love them.
The opening reception runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at W83 Ministry Center, located at 150 W 83rd Street on the Upper West Side. Admission is free, but tickets must be reserved in advance at 150w83.com/upcomingevents.
The exhibit features powerful portraits and storytelling that highlight the redemptive relationships between dogs and their humans. Each image tells a story of connection, resilience, and trust—offering a glimpse into the deep emotional world of animals and the people who welcome them into their lives.
As a dedicated dog photographer, Morales has spent years documenting these relationships through her lens. Her work focuses on the moments that often go unseen: a quiet look, a playful nudge, a shared sense of belonging. The result is a collection of images that celebrate the unique spirit of dogs and the powerful ways they bring people healing, joy, and unconditional love.
W83 Ministry Center, a cultural and community space known for hosting thought-provoking exhibits, invites the public to be among the first to experience this new work on opening night.
Tickets are free but space is limited. Reserve your spot now at 150w83.com/upcomingevents.
