Midtown Mayhem: Subway Slashing, Forcible Touching, Mugging Arrest

A verbal dispute inside the 49th Street subway station within the confines of the Midtown North Precinct at around 12:55 a.m. on Friday May 15 resulted in a slashing, with a 34-year-old male victim receiving the sharp end from a panhandler. The victim, initially unaware he’d been cut, boarded a southbound Q train. Arriving at 34th Street, he alerted cops before being transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The suspect fled to parts unknown.

Cops Arrest One Suspect in Midtown Mugging

One of two men suspected of viciously mugging a man near Ninth Avenue and 34th Street has been arrested. Mouhamet Ndiaye, a 24-year-old male, residing at 951 Hoe Ave., in the Longwood section of the Bronx, was charged with Grand Larceny and Robbery.

The robbery occurred within the confines of the 10th Precinct on Sunday, May 3, at approximately 3:15 a.m., in front of 419 W. 34th St. Police said a 28-year-old male victim was approached by two unidentified individuals.

One of the individuals removed the victim’s cellphone and approximately $500. The victim confronted the individuals and was pushed to the ground and while on the ground, the victim’s $500 watch was stolen.

The individuals then fled the location in a white BMW SUV traveling westbound on 34th Street.

The address 419 W. 34th St. is a student housing building within the Hudson Yards devleopment. “A dialogue of past and present NYC, all while providing a place that feels like home,” says its operator, Educational Housing Services.

The first sought individual is described as a male. He was last seen wearing an orange baseball cap, black jacket with white lettering, black pants and black sneakers.

The second sought individual is described as a male. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt with yellow lettering, dark colored jeans, and multi-colored sneakers.

At press time, it’s unclear which suspect Ndiaye is but he’s not unknown to the system. In addition to his current charges, Ndiaye was already facing Grand Larcenty charges from a December 5, 2025 robbery in the 5th Precinct. In that case, he pled not guilty and was released on his own recognizance.

Forcible Touching on Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying an individual wanted in connection with a forcible touching pattern that occurred within the confines of the Midtown South Precinct on April 22, at approximately 4:02 p.m. The victim, a 51-year-old woman, was walking in the vicinity of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street, when an unidentified male approached her from behind and grabbed and squeezed her left buttock. He then fled on foot northbound on Sixth Avenue to parts unknown.

The sought individual is described as a male, of medium complexion, approximately 30 to 40 years of age and was last seen wearing a burgundy hoodie, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
