SILENT MOBIUS IS a show that I’ve had sitting on ...

I'd seen episodes of One Piece before, but never in any particular order. I'm always looking for new stuff, and this rubber-man-pirate-comedy-adventure?which is up to episode 173?certainly caught my attention. From the moment the protagonist, Luffy, burst out of the barrel, to the teaser ending of the man tied to the post, the show never flags in intensity. There's a lot of humor, and though the characters aren't really distinctive, they do have a lot of potential for good stories. I'm going to enjoy watching this nascent "king of pirates" assemble his crew.

Hunter X Hunter: I've been searching for this one as well. My collection has major holes, but I've enjoyed what I've seen. The hunters are dedicated to discovering things in different disciplines?food, people, or experiences. In the show, characters must pass tests in order to get their "hunter" licenses. The challenges placed before the characters are ingenious and provide for a high level of drama and humor. For me, the story of Gon's becoming a hunter and searching for his father is striking; it's what drew me in.

Given the recent reader outcry against P2P and downloads, a word on licenses. Some people feel that licenses are significant, and they will no longer fansub a title that has been licensed in their country. It happens all the time. I never worry about it. Some newsgroups have rules about posting licensed materials; others don't. If you care whether that season of some show is licensed or, if licensed, is available on DVD yet, you can find out.

Lastly, I was on Kazaa Lite recently because I heard that there was manga to be found. I looked around and found that most of what was available was posted as .pdf. This is very annoying, as you may know. Not just because it is a proprietary format that's a pain to change into anything else and you can't use the .cbr to read it, but because it's generally slow and irritating to use?but that's a rant for another time.

Enabling you to search newsgroups for things you want to download: nfonews.com. Seems cool.
