MTA supervisor assaulted in 96th Street subway station

An MTA supervisor was attacked on a subway platform and pushed towards the tracks on Tuesday, April 18th.

Saim Montakim, 49, an MTA employee supervisor, was at the 96th Street station around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday when the assault occurred. Montakim was waiting on the northbound platform for the No. 1 train when an assailant approached him, physically attacked him and pushed him as if towards the tracks.

The assailant was identified as Okoro Nnamadi, 34, of the Bronx. Nnamadi has been charged with assault.

Montakim was not wearing his uniform at the time and was not distinguishable by sight as an employee of the MTA, and did not state to the suspect that he was an MTA employee.
