HIP-HOP FEST
| 16 Feb 2015 | 06:41
This year's Hip Hop Theater Festival has graduated to New York's Public Theatre. The sixth annual festival features five days/nights of dance, music, drama, spoken word and workshops. Highlights include "Som do Movimento" by Brazil's Frank Ejara, who traces B-boy's boogaloo, locking and popping back to their roots through movement and sound, and the NY premiere of the Reg E. Gaines-directed "Live From The Front," with Pacifica Radio's Iraq correspondent Jerry Quickley's "uncensored" hip-hop spoken word portrayal of what he witnessed, including his expulsion, using music, poetry and video.
