Stabbing IncidentA 30-year-old was stabbed several times, suffering a collapsed lung and several cuts, at Riverside Drive and West 102nd Street at about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, and police arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the incident. The victim was taken to St. Luke’s. His condition was not released. Gil Green, was arrested and charged with assault, criminal mischief, harassment, disorderly conduct and other counts, police said. Police cited no cause for the conflict.
Armed ConfrontationA young man fled unharmed from a gunman on the street. At 11:47 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, a 25-year-old man walking outside 133 West 90th St., near Amsterdam Avenue was approached by a man in black who pulled out a firearm, according to the account given to police. The young man took off running toward 91st Street and heard a loud bang but did not actually see the firearm go off. Police searched the area but couldn’t find the alleged shooter.
Un-neighborly ConductPolice arrested a man’s female neighbor after she physically attacked him. At 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, a 55-year-old woman, later identified by police as Michelle Ferran, hit her 58-year-old male neighbor over the head with a glass bottle at 305 West 97th Street, cutting his face and head, according to police. The man was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment. Ferran was charged with assault and harassment among other charges, police said.
Street brawlers arrestedTwo men involved in a recent street brawl outside the McDonald’s on Broadway near 95th Street were arrested. Just before 1 a.m. on Monday, September 17, a man in his 30s in front of the restaurant at 2549 Broadway was asking for food when an older man approached, told him it was his “spot” and threatened to kill him, police said. The older man, identified by police as Kelvine Swann, then punched the younger man, ID’d as Jose Urbaez, in the eye, and struck him on top of his head with a metal object. Urbaez fought back by picking up a plastic crate and smashing Swann over the head with hit, cutting Swann’s face and head, police said. Swann was taken to St. Luke’s for treatment, while Urbaez refused medical attention at the scene. Urbaez and Swann were both arrested and charged with assault, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and other charges, police said.
