    Pedestrian Jumped by Gang of Five

    A 24-year-old man reported that at 1:50am on Saturday, June 7, he was walking along West 87th Street rapping when five men heading in the opposite direction “gave him looks.” Then those men approached him on Amsterdam Avenue as he was walking to West 86th Street and started calling him out in Spanish. They next followed him and hit him over the head with closed and open fists, knocking him to the ground. The victim managed to hail a taxi and fled the scene. When he got to the precinct station house he noticed that his Cartier bracelet and left AirPod were missing, valued at $199.

    Police Arrest Violent Intruder

    A 54-year-old man told police that at 2:15am on Friday, June 6, a 21-year-old male stranger entered his building at 372 Central Park West at West 97th Street and started acting “erratic and disorderly.” The stranger then took his umbrella and hit the 54-year-old over the head, causing swelling and pain. Abdoulaye Diallo was swiftly charged with assault and taken into police custody.

    Man’s Acquaintance Nabbed After Assaulting Him

    According to police, at 1:55pm on Friday, June 6, a 39-year-old man got into a dispute with a 34-year-old male acquaintance inside 316 W. 97th St., near Riverside Drive, when the latter punched him with a closed fist multiple times. The younger man also grabbed the victim’s neck, causing pain and bruising. The suspect, who was not named by police, was arrested and charged with assault.

    Police Collar Abusive Boyfriend

    A 34-year-old woman stated that at 6pm on Friday, June 6, she refused her 31-year-old boyfriend’s advances, so he got angry and pushed her into a bedpost in her bedroom at 12 W. 101st St., near Central Park West, causing bruising and a laceration to her lower back. Then the following day at around 4pm, she was listening to music with headphones on, getting ready to go out when her boyfriend, with no provocation, grabbed a hair iron and burned her, causing visible bruising on her arm pit. She refused medical attention at the scene, and David Torres was arrested and charged with assault.

    Music Volume Dispute Turns Violent

    Police reported that at 3:05pm on Sunday, June 15, a 59-year-old man and a 57-year-old male acquaintance got into a verbal argument over the volume of the music the younger man was playing inside 145 W. 108th St., near Amsterdam Avenue. The younger man then swung at the other but missed, before striking the victim in the face, leading to a physical fight. Both men ended up on the floor in the scuffle. The younger man then stabbed the other in the back. The victim suffered bleeding and a laceration and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Gilbert Orama was arrested and charged with assault.
