Stepdaughter Arrested After Striking Stepfather
A 52-year-old man told police that at 2:05 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, he was having a verbal dispute with his 21-year-old stepdaughter inside 312 West 93rd St. between Riverside Dr. and West End Ave. when she hit him on the back of the head with an unknown object, causing redness to the back of his head. He said she also smashed a glass bottle on the floor next to his feet. Shessid Galicia was arrested and charged with assault.
Random Assault inside Residential Facility
According to police, at 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, a 47-year-old man struck a 31-year-old male stranger on the back of the neck with a hammer inside 330 West 95th St. between Riverside Dr. and West End Ave., causing a small abrasion and bleeding and pain. Police recovered a hammer from the suspect’s room, and the victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside for treatment. Mike Williams was arrested on a charge of assault.
Argument between Mother and Daughter Turns Violent
A 74-year-old woman reported that at 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, she and her 44-year-old daughter were engaged in a verbal dispute inside 784 Columbus Ave. between West 97th St. and West 98th St., when her daughter pushed her to the ground, causing pain to her head, back and buttocks. In addition, a door got broken during the incident. The mother was treated on the scene, and her daughter Nicole Stewart was arrested and charged with assault.
Acquaintance Throws Beer at Man inside Popeyes
A 54-year-old man told police that at 7:46 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, he got into an argument with a 56-year-old male acquaintance inside the Popeyes location at 2534 Broadway at West 95th St. The acquaintance then picked up a full can of beer and threw it at the 54-year-old’s head, causing substantial pain to his head. The victim refused medical attention, and Rafael Rodriguez was arrested on a charge of assault.
Senior Attacks Girlfriend, Gets Arrested
A 77-year-old woman stated that at 3:40 p.m. on Monday, May 1, she was about to step out to get something to eat when she got into a verbal dispute with her 66-year-old boyfriend inside 11 West 107th St. between Manhattan Ave. and Central Park West. The boyfriend then grabbed her and pushed her to the ground, causing scratches, bruising and pain to her leg and arm. She declined medical attention at the scene, and Herberth Melgar was arrested and charged with assault.
