REVISITING THE RIOTS

Lester Melvin's new one-act play, Boogeyman & the White Chick (occasionally subtitled, "No Justice No Peace"), takes place in LA two days following the Rodney King verdict. As you can imagine, given the title and the time frame, things get a little tense. The five-member cast, directed by Darlene Gidney, will be reading the play as part of The Frank Silvera Writing Workshop's Juneteenth Theater and Blues Festival.

    June 8-18. Theater for the New City, 155 1st Ave. (at 10th St.), 212-281-8832; 8, $15.
