Wire Stolen from Construction Site
A 41-year-old male employee of the Top Shelf Electric company in Iselin, NJ reported that at some time between 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, and 7:30 a.m. on Monday, November 8, an unknown intruder entered a construction site inside 17 West 60th St. near Broadway after removing a metal chain and combination lock. The suspect then stole electrical wires valued at $6,000. The reporter claimed that no other contractor had access to the location and all three supervisors knew the combination lock code.
Shoplifting Season Begins at Victoria’s Secret Store
A 29-year-old female employee of the Victoria’s Secret store at 2333 Broadway at West 85th St. told police that at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, a man entered the store, placed merchandise into a red shopping bag and then fled the store in an unknown direction without paying. Police scoured the neighborhood with multiple search units but couldn’t find the suspect or the stolen goods. The stolen items included three handbags, eight bottles of perfume, one candle and twelve pink bras totaling $1,074.
According to police, a 23-year-old female employee of the same Victoria’s Secret store reported that at 6:57 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, a 35-year-old man entered the store, removed items from a shelf and fled southbound on Broadway on foot. The stolen items included 50 pairs of leggings totaling $2,248.
Wallet Taken from Shopping Cart
A 23-year-old woman said that at 12 noon on Sunday, November 7, she was shopping inside the Trader Joe’s store at 2073 Broadway at West 72nd St., leaving her purse unattended in a shopping cart. When she returned to the shopping cart she discovered that her purse had been placed in another shopping cart with the zipper open and her wallet missing. Three unauthorized purchases soon turned up on her stolen credit and debit cards. The other missing items included a Chinese passport, $300 in cash, a vaccine card and several keys.
Maison Pickle in a Pickle
A 30-year-old female employee of the Maison Pickle restaurant at 2315 Broadway at West 84th St. told police that at 5:02 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, a man and a woman shattered the lower part of the side entrance door’s glass panel with a rock and then unlocked the door by reaching inside, to gain entry. They next stole items belonging to the restaurant before fleeing eastbound. The stolen property included a cash register valued at $150 and four bottles of liquor worth $140, making a total score of $290.
