Park Deeds

Leave property in your parked car, and you leave it in jeopardy. At 11 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, a 64-year-old man parked his 2006 Dodge outside 162 West 83rd Street. When he returned to the vehicle, he found that someone had broken in and taken belongings worth $2,719.

Dead Beats

At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, seven men went into the Apple Store at 1981 Broadway and made off with Beats headphones valued at $2,400.

Molto Allegra

Wondering about the latest local Duane Reade shoplifting incident? Here it is: at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, two men and one woman working in concert went into the chain’s outlet at 4 Amsterdam Ave. and made off with $1,400 worth of medications, including Allegra and Claritin.

Bike Strike

Apparently someone confused the concepts of bike sharing and bike stealing. At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, an unknown perpetrator stole a Citi Bike valued at $1,200 from the ride sharing station at 76th Street and Central Park West.

Back Jack

The back of your chair is NOT a secure place to leave your bag. Case in point: at 1 a.m. on Friday, March 31, a 19-year-old woman hung her bag over the back of her chair in the Bourbon Street bar at 407 Amsterdam Ave. When she next checked, her bag was gone along with her wallet and credit cards.
